Project Overview
A large Canadian public-sector organization requires a Senior Technical Business Analyst to support two correctional-technology initiatives: secure wireless connectivity implementation and a province-wide video-visitation service. The work modernizes digital service delivery across correctional facilities while improving secure access, operational efficiency, virtual services and system integration.
Initiative One Secure Facility Connectivity
Support the final phase of secure end-to-end wireless infrastructure implementation across provincial correctional facilities. The platform will enable virtual court appearances, electronic disclosure, e-learning, telehealth, staff mobility and future digital services.
Initiative Two Video Visitation Service
Support the final implementation phase of a standardized video-visitation platform providing secure virtual access for approved visitors and professional services. The initiative includes enhanced technology capabilities and integration with an offender-management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead consultations, requirements sessions and stakeholder meetings.
- Create business requirements, functional specifications and technical requirements.
- Design new business and technical processes and conduct process reviews and re-engineering.
- Facilitate business-process improvement sessions and support development of new IT services.
- Organize and lead status and governance meetings.
- Bridge communication between vendors and corporate technical and business teams.
- Escalate unresolved issues and risks with options and recommendations.
- Support business architecture, software-system specification design and database modelling.
- Participate in iterative, model-based development.
- Perform project management, business and technical analysis and systems design for complex n-tier solutions.
- Produce project artifacts using XML, UML and web-services technologies.
- Maintain business requirements, software requirements, functional designs, plans and schedules.
- Prepare regular status, risk, timeline and effort reports.
- Maintain clear communication through all project phases and identify required user training.
