Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Specialist / Data Scientist to support enterprise-wide data initiatives and the design of innovative analytical products and services. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional with expertise in data science, statistical modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to transform complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain analytical models, data products, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Analyze, clean, organize, and prepare large datasets for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- Develop statistical, machine learning, and AI models to solve complex business problems.
- Design and implement data visualizations, dashboards, and custom reports.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop analytical frameworks, roadmaps, and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Evaluate data quality and recommend improvements to support enterprise analytics.
- Capture business and technical metadata for analytical products.
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams on end-to-end analytics projects.
- Support the development of full-stack analytics and AI applications where required.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Mentor team members and promote best practices in analytics and data science.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and provide regular status updates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience using statistical programming and computer languages for data analysis.
- Minimum 6 years of experience building analytical and quantitative models.
- Minimum 6 years of experience preparing data for predictive and prescriptive modeling.
- Minimum 5 years of experience translating complex business problems into analytical solutions.
- Minimum 6 years of experience with data analysis methodologies and statistical techniques.
- Minimum 6 years of experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Machine Learning (ML) in business environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data sharing, data linkage, metadata management, and de-identification techniques.
- Experience building and deploying end-to-end analytics or AI-enabled applications.
- Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise data sources.
- Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and analytics workflows.
- Experience developing dashboards and data visualizations.
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.
- Experience working with cloud platforms for analytics and AI.
- Experience working with large-scale government or public sector datasets.
Technical Skills
- Python, R, SQL, or similar statistical programming languages.
- Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

Work Arrangement
- Remote work within Canada.
- Occasional onsite meetings may be required.
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday during regular business hours.
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must provide their own computer and related equipment compatible with remote desktop access (Windows preferred).
- Successful candidates must complete a criminal background check prior to project commencement.
- Completion of mandatory security, privacy, and onboarding training will be required.
- Resume must clearly demonstrate all required experience, including employment dates in MMM/YYYY – MMM/YYYY format.
- Three professional references will be required.
