Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and support cloud-based data pipelines for manufacturing and industrial data platforms. The ideal candidate will work on ingesting, standardizing, and delivering manufacturing data from shop-floor systems including presses, sensors, CBM systems, MES platforms, and manual inputs into a Unified Namespace (UNS) and downstream Digital Twin and analytics platforms.

This role requires strong expertise in AWS-based data engineering, real-time data processing, and MQTT-driven architectures within manufacturing environments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data ingestion pipelines from manufacturing systems including:
    • PLC / Press Controllers
    • CBM Systems
    • MES Platforms
  • Publish and consume data through a Unified Namespace (UNS) using MQTT-based architecture
  • Build scalable pipelines supporting:
    • Real-time processing
    • Near real-time processing
    • Historical data processing
  • Model and transform raw machine data into contextualized, asset-based datasets
  • Integrate data into:
    • Digital Twin platforms
    • Analytics solutions
    • KPI calculation layers
  • Ensure high standards for:
    • Data quality
    • Observability
    • Reliability
    • Pipeline monitoring

Required Skills

  • Strong Python programming skills (Primary Language)
  • Advanced SQL for analytics and data transformations
  • Experience with:
    • JSON
    • Avro
    • Parquet data formats
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Stream processing
    • Batch processing
  • Strong understanding of MQTT publish/subscribe patterns
  • Experience designing topic namespaces aligned with asset hierarchies
  • Experience implementing or consuming Unified Namespace (UNS) architectures

Nice to Have

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using:
    • Terraform
    • AWS CloudFormation
  • Experience with manufacturing, industrial IoT, or shop-floor systems
  • Familiarity with Digital Twin architectures and industrial analytics platforms

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong background in AWS data engineering and industrial data platforms
  • Experience working with manufacturing telemetry and operational technology (OT) systems
  • Ability to design scalable and reliable cloud-native data solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
