Job Description:

We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst with strong hands-on experience in OpenText Exstream to join our document automation and publishing team. This role focuses on the migration and modernization of customer communications from legacy platforms to contemporary solutions. You will serve as a bridge between business and technical teams, translating complex requirements into clear, actionable documentation and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and project managers to gather and refine requirements for customer document publishing and delivery.
  • Develop detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) and Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) based on business and technical input.
  • Design mock-ups and user stories to support development, QA, and user review cycles.
  • Investigate and analyze document generation issues and propose scalable, efficient solutions.
  • Perform testing in lower environments to ensure high-quality document output prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Support integration of document systems into core platforms such as policy admin or claims systems.

Top Required Skills:

  1. OpenText Exstream (OT Exstream) – Minimum 5 years of experience with document design, configuration, integration, and delivery.
  2. Strong writing and communication skills – Proven ability to author FSDs, BRDs, mock-ups, and other business/technical documentation.
  3. Solid experience working in or with insurance or financial services document workflows.
  4. Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PDF tools, and SQL for querying and validation.
  5. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Guidewire or other policy administration systems.
  • Proficient with SQL querying and database understanding.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.

Experience & Education:

  • 5+ years in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • 3–5 years as a Business Systems Analyst with a focus on document publishing and customer communications.
  • Background in programming, system integration, or IT project delivery is a plus.
