Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Analytics Specialist / Data Scientist with a strong mix of analytical, technical, and strategic capabilities. This role involves working across data analytics, data science, data modeling, and AI/ML initiatives to support enterprise-level data strategy and decision-making. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to design and deliver data-driven solutions and insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and expertise in designing and delivering analytical projects
  • Develop and maintain data models, analytical tools, and data products
  • Analyze and organize raw data for predictive and prescriptive modeling
  • Build algorithms and statistical models to generate business insights
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytical needs and translate into solutions
  • Conduct complex data analysis and support data engineering initiatives
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations for decision-making
  • Define metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators
  • Facilitate strategic discussions and provide data-driven recommendations
  • Support data strategy initiatives and promote data-driven culture
  • Coach and mentor team members and support cross-functional collaboration
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and metadata management
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, roadmaps, and frameworks
  • Work in a multi-vendor and cross-functional environment

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in statistical and programming languages
  • 6+ years of experience in data analytics or data science
  • 6+ years of experience building analytical and quantitative models
  • 6+ years of experience in predictive and prescriptive modeling
  • 6+ years of experience in data analytics methods and techniques
  • 6+ years of experience in statistical and data mining techniques
  • 2+ years of experience building and deploying end-to-end analytical or AI-enabled applications

Nice to Have

  • 5+ years of experience in data sharing, data linkage, and metadata management
  • 5+ years of experience combining data from multiple sources and domains
  • 5+ years of experience working with stakeholders and explaining complex data concepts
  • 3+ years of experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and workflows
  • 5+ years of experience solving complex business problems using analytics
  • 3+ years of experience creating dashboards and visualizations
  • 3+ years of experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) or cloud platforms
  • 3+ years of experience working with large government datasets

Additional Details

  • Work must be performed from within Canada
  • Primarily remote with occasional onsite meetings (3–4 times per year)
  • Candidate must provide their own equipment
  • Background check required
