Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Architect to assess the organization’s current data, integration, and governance maturity and define a scalable enterprise MDM strategy and architecture.

The successful candidate will work with business and technology stakeholders to identify priority data domains, define systems of record, establish entity-management processes, evaluate MDM technology options, and create a phased implementation roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

Current-State Assessment and Strategy

• Assess the current maturity of data management, system integration, and data governance capabilities.
• Validate the organization’s business vision and acquisition-readiness objectives.
• Confirm project scope, success criteria, dependencies, and known constraints.
• Identify priority data domains and critical enterprise entities.
• Evaluate data-mastering requirements and determine appropriate sources of truth.

Data-Domain and System Analysis

• Analyze key source and consumption systems across in-scope data domains.
• Identify users, applications, and business processes that will consume master data.
• Determine the master authoring system where new records are created for each enterprise entity.
• Define create, read, update, and delete processes for enterprise entities.
• Identify systems, use cases, and processes that will ingest or receive feedback data from the MDM platform.

MDM Architecture and Data Modelling

• Define the target-state MDM architecture.
• Align the conceptual architecture with priority business use cases.
• Develop the target MDM logical architecture and enterprise data models.
• Design entity-resolution processes, including matching, merging, survivorship, and duplicate management.
• Define data-quality controls and governance requirements for master entities.
• Apply industry-standard entity models, including party models within the insurance domain.

Technology Evaluation and Roadmap

• Evaluate commercial MDM platforms and custom-built solutions.
• Develop comparison criteria and recommendations for a buy-versus-build decision.
• Assess MDM platforms such as Informatica, Reltio, Profisee, and Semarchy xDM.
• Define the physical architecture and recommend suitable technology-stack options.
• Evaluate integration with cloud, data, ETL, analytics, and operational platforms.
• Develop a phased MDM implementation roadmap aligned with business priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience working as an MDM Architect and MDM Data Modeler.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise MDM strategies and architectures.
• Hands-on implementation experience with one or more MDM platforms, including:
  • Informatica MDM
  • Reltio
  • Profisee
  • Semarchy xDM
  • Custom-built MDM solutions
• Strong understanding of enterprise data entities, including the party model within the insurance domain.
• Strong knowledge of data-quality management and entity-resolution concepts.
• Experience designing match, merge, deduplication, golden-record, and survivorship models.
• Strong understanding of source systems, systems of record, master-authoring systems, and consuming applications.
• Experience defining CRUD processes for enterprise master-data entities.
• Strong data-modelling and logical/physical architecture skills.
• Experience evaluating commercial MDM tools against custom-built solutions.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with ETL and data-integration technologies.
• Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Working knowledge of Python and PySpark.
• Strong stakeholder-management, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering MDM solutions within the property and casualty insurance industry.
• Familiarity with data-governance frameworks, policies, stewardship, and ownership models.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or enterprise-transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of API-based, batch, event-driven, and real-time integration patterns.
• Experience developing phased enterprise data-management roadmaps.
• Ability to communicate complex data architecture concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
