Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Governance Technical Consultant (Collibra) to support the implementation of Collibra, with an initial focus on establishing scalable data governance practices across a modern Microsoft Azure and Databricks ecosystem.

The consultant will work closely with the DG Solution Owner, DG Solution Architect, and Manager of Enterprise Data to deliver governance frameworks, metadata management, lineage, workflow automation, and integration capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform current-state design assessment and implementation planning
  • Configure and implement Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud
  • Design and implement metadata models and governance standards
  • Integrate Collibra with Databricks Unity Catalog and modern data platforms
  • Develop governance workflows, RBAC, and automation processes
  • Implement metadata ingestion pipelines and lineage capabilities
  • Support validation, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities
  • Contribute within Agile delivery methodologies

Technical Requirements

Collibra Platform Expertise

Hands-on experience with:

  • Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud
  • Data Catalog
  • Business Glossary
  • Data Lineage
  • Data Helpdesk / Workflow configuration

Experience with:

  • Asset model customization
  • Domains, communities, and responsibilities
  • Workflow engine configuration
  • Role-based access control (RBAC)

Metadata Management & Modeling

  • Design and implementation of custom metadata models
  • Experience defining:
    • Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
    • Business and technical metadata schemas
    • Data classification frameworks (PII, sensitivity, etc.)
  • Knowledge of metadata standards, naming conventions, and completeness rules
  • Alignment of business glossary with technical assets

Databricks & Azure Integration

Experience integrating Collibra with:

  • Databricks Unity Catalog
  • Catalogs, schemas, tables, and columns
  • Permissions and ownership mapping

Experience with:

  • Delta tables
  • Metadata ingestion pipelines
  • Lakehouse and Medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold) preferred

APIs & Integration

Hands-on experience with:

  • Collibra REST APIs
  • Import API / Edge / Lineage ingestion

Ability to:

  • Build automated metadata ingestion pipelines
  • Configure incremental metadata synchronization
  • Integrate with Power BI reporting models

Knowledge of:

  • JSON / XML metadata structures
  • API authentication and security

Data Lineage & Quality

  • Implement end-to-end lineage across source, transformation, and consumption layers
  • Validate lineage with engineering teams
  • Define and implement data quality rules and DQ metrics
  • Link data quality rules to business definitions and assets

Workflow Automation & Governance

  • Implement workflows for:
    • Data stewardship assignments
    • Glossary lifecycle management
    • Issue management and resolution

Experience with:

  • BPMN-based workflow configuration
  • Notifications and task assignments

Security & DevOps

  • Implement RBAC and governance-aligned permissions
  • Align Collibra access with Databricks permissions
  • Experience working across Dev / Test / Prod environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment practices preferred
