Business Analyst – Process Modernization
Location
Edmonton, Alberta (Onsite – 5 days/week)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support process modernization initiatives by analyzing current workflows and identifying opportunities for digitization, automation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in improving operational efficiency, driving transformation, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Process Analysis & Documentation
- Analyze and document current-state business processes, including process mapping, gap analysis, and baseline metrics
- Conduct detailed assessments to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
Process Improvement & Modernization
- Identify opportunities for automation, digitization, and optimization using Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies
- Recommend solutions leveraging emerging technologies, including AI where applicable
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and define solutions
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to align on business needs
Strategic Planning & Reporting
- Develop work plans, roadmaps, and evaluation frameworks for modernization initiatives
- Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and recommendations
Impact Analysis & Change Management
- Estimate business impact, efficiency gains, and ROI of proposed solutions
- Support change management and adoption of new processes and systems
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure alignment with organizational standards, governance frameworks, and best practices
- Deliver high-quality, audit-ready documentation
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, process improvement, or transformation initiatives
- Strong experience in process mapping, gap analysis, and current-state assessments
- Proven experience in data analysis and reporting
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience in developing strategic roadmaps and modernization frameworks
- Exposure to AI and emerging technologies
- Experience working in public sector or large enterprise environments
