Position Overview
VStream Labs Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud QA Engineer for a fictional contract engagement with a Confidential Client. The successful candidate will lead quality engineering for cloud applications and APIs, establish scalable test automation practices, and collaborate with engineering, product, security, and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute functional, integration, API, regression, performance, and reliability testing.
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks using Java, Selenium, REST Assured, and Playwright.
- Validate applications and services deployed on Microsoft Azure.
- Test REST APIs, asynchronous integrations, and data-processing workflows.
- Integrate automated testing with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop test strategies, plans, cases, traceability, and defect reports.
- Analyze failures using logs, metrics, traces, and application-monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, business analysts, product owners, and security teams.
- Report quality risks, coverage, defects, and release-readiness metrics.
- Mentor QA engineers and promote shift-left quality practices.
Required Qualifications
- Eight or more years of software quality assurance or quality engineering experience.
- Five or more years of hands-on test automation experience.
- Strong Java, Selenium, REST Assured, and API testing experience.
- Two or more years testing applications or services hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Experience integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with SQL, data validation, and backend testing.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery, defect management, and test documentation.
- Strong written communication, stakeholder collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Playwright, JMeter, or comparable modern test-tool experience.
- Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Datadog, or comparable observability experience.
- Experience testing financial-services applications.
- Knowledge of containerized services, Kubernetes, or microservices.
- Microsoft Azure or software-testing certification.
Work Arrangement
- Employment Type: Contract
- Location: Toronto, Ontario
- Arrangement: Hybrid - two days per week onsite
