Role: Senior Project Manager
Project: ERP Transformation, Procurement Modernization, Financial Planning, and Complex Scheduling Initiatives
Location: Canada – Primarily Remote
Work Arrangement: Remote with occasional onsite meetings as required
Work Hours: 08:15 AM – 04:30 PM Mountain Time, Monday to Friday
Work Eligibility: Work must be performed from within Canada due to network and data security requirements
Equipment: Resource must provide their own computer and related equipment compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop and remote access tools
Role Overview
VStream Labs Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support multiple high-priority ERP transformation initiatives within a complex public-sector enterprise environment.
The successful resource will be responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of multiple ERP projects across procurement modernization, budgeting and forecasting, financial planning, HRIS, workforce management, complex scheduling, and complex pay interpretation capabilities.
This role requires strong experience managing complex IT and ERP initiatives, working with senior stakeholders, vendors, business teams, technical teams, project sponsors, and executive governance committees. The ideal candidate must be able to quickly understand an established ERP program environment and contribute with minimal onboarding delay.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing multiple complex ERP and IT transformation initiatives.
- Managing project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, interdependencies, budgets, and governance reporting.
- Managing procurement modernization initiatives across source-to-contract, procure-to-pay, contract-to-pay, supplier management, invoicing, compliance, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, planning, and fiscal-year lifecycle solution delivery.
- Managing HRIS, workforce management, complex scheduling, and complex pay interpretation initiatives.
- Developing project charters, business cases, project plans, status reports, briefing notes, and executive-level project materials.
- Producing and packaging deliverables for internal support teams, steering committees, and project stakeholders.
- Managing project resources efficiently to meet project goals.
- Working with project sponsors to ensure effective project communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Escalating risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies as required.
- Collaborating with business and IT leadership to develop well-defined project plans.
- Defining project objectives, scope, assumptions, timelines, resource requirements, risks, benefits, and budgets.
- Developing project organization structures with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
- Tracking project progress against objectives, milestones, budget, resources, risks, and issues.
- Developing project schedules, estimating resource requirements, monitoring work plans, and taking corrective action as required.
- Providing leadership and guidance to project resources on priorities and delivery expectations.
- Supporting change management and communication activities where required.
- Assessing whether project outcomes were achieved and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Working within established PMO standards and supporting the definition of new standards where required.
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent related discipline.
Mandatory Experience
Candidates must clearly describe all required experience in the resume under the job/project where the experience was gained. Each role/project must include dates in MMM/YYYY to MMM/YYYY format.
- 12+ years of experience defining project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and project governance.
- 12+ years of experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, project plans, briefing materials, status reports, and governance documentation.
- 12+ years of experience in a senior project management role leading complex IT or ERP projects.
- 12+ years of experience planning, designing, implementing, and supporting platform solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- 8+ years of experience working in the public sector, either federal or provincial.
- 2+ years of experience delivering and managing budgeting and forecasting solutions in an ERP environment.
- 2+ years of experience delivering and managing HRIS systems in an ERP landscape.
- 2+ years of experience delivering and managing SCM solutions in an ERP landscape.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Active PMP or PgMP certification issued by the Project Management Institute.
- 10+ years of experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across complex organizations.
- 10+ years of experience making recommendations on highly technical or complex project issues.
- 10+ years of experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery.
- 10+ years of experience working as a Project Manager on large, complex custom software development or ERP implementation projects.
- 10+ years of experience working directly within a comparable public-sector ERP transformation environment.
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience in the public sector, ideally within Canada.
- 10+ years of experience managing IT solutions involving multiple teams.
- Experience with ERP transformation programs involving procurement, finance, HRIS, scheduling, workforce management, or complex pay interpretation.
- Experience preparing executive-level materials such as briefing notes, steering committee updates, decision items, risk summaries, and dependency reports.
- Strong experience working with cross-functional teams, vendors, business stakeholders, technical teams, and senior leadership.
