Job Description:

Location: 3 Days Onsite, Hybrid, GTA, Ontario 

  • Provides support and control of project management activities, thereby ensuring quality and excellence in project delivery under the direct supervision and in support of the Project Manager.
  • Assists with a variety of tasks within the IT Transformation/PMO Function.
  • Involved in the coordination of projects and programs within the portfolio.
  • Assists with building reports, presentations, schedules, resource coordination, coordination of meetings (minutes, agenda, facilitation), and ensures compliance with governance of major and minor projects.
  • The project coordinator may be expected to manage a phase within a project, or a light governance project under the direct coaching of a project manager.
  • Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts.
  • Assists the Project Manager with day-to-day activities, including status reporting utilizing project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet customer expectations.
  • Responsible for administration and tracking of projects through all phases from initiation to project completion.
  • Identifies project-scheduling issues and potential risks.
  • Ensures governance and process alignment by taking guidance from project managers, QA, and compliance with respect to project processes, procedures, metrics, and reporting.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Experience working with P&C insurance clients.
  • Looking for IT Project Coordinators but not Project Managers.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills – proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence platforms.
  • College Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including demonstrated tenacity for following up with the team on outstanding items.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply various guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced and evolving organization.
  • Knowledge of any Enterprise Portfolio Management applications (EPM).
