- Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM (Alberta Time) | 36.25 hours/week

- Work Requirement: Work must be performed from within Canada due to network and data security requirements.
- Contract Extension: Up to 12 months (based on project requirements).
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Trainer to support a large-scale enterprise ERP modernization initiative by leading the design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of organization-wide training programs. The successful candidate will develop role-based learning strategies, conduct training needs analyses, design and deliver instructor-led, virtual, blended, self-paced, and computer-based learning solutions, establish training governance and quality standards, evaluate learning effectiveness, and collaborate with business leaders, subject matter experts, vendors, project teams, and change management teams to ensure successful learning outcomes and user adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide training initiatives by developing role-based training strategies, defining training scope, selecting appropriate delivery methods (instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced), and establishing measurable success criteria aligned with business objectives.
- Design, develop, facilitate, and maintain complex training programs and learning solutions for diverse audiences while ensuring compliance with organizational standards, accessibility requirements, and established templates.
- Conduct training needs analyses and apply competency development frameworks to identify learning requirements and recommend effective training solutions.
- Develop high-quality training materials including facilitator guides, learner guides, computer-based training, job aids, reference materials, and supporting instructional documentation.
- Partner with business leaders, business process owners, subject matter experts, project teams, vendors, and change management teams to validate learning needs, confirm training readiness, and coordinate deployment activities.
- Establish and maintain training governance processes including training intake, prioritization, review and approval cycles, quality assurance, version control, and ongoing maintenance of learning content.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through attendance tracking, learner feedback, knowledge assessments, performance metrics, and other evaluation methods, using insights to continuously improve training materials and delivery approaches.
- Mentor and coach junior trainers and contributors to promote consistent delivery standards, learner support practices, and high-quality training outcomes.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital collaboration platforms, AI-enabled tools, and other approved technologies to improve training development, delivery, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure all training materials remain current and aligned with evolving business processes, system updates, and organizational standards.
Must-Have Qualifications
- University degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience developing and delivering instructor-led, virtual, blended, self-paced, and computer-based training programs.
- Minimum 4 years of experience conducting training needs analyses and applying competency development frameworks.
- Minimum 4 years of experience leading curriculum design and instructional development projects from inception through implementation.
- Minimum 4 years of professional Learning & Development experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience applying adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, learning concepts, and best practices.
- Strong expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, competency-based learning, learning strategy, and enterprise training delivery.
- Experience developing role-based training programs, facilitator guides, learner manuals, job aids, training documentation, and supporting learning resources.
- Experience establishing training governance, quality assurance processes, review and approval workflows, version control, and content maintenance practices.
- Experience measuring training effectiveness using learner feedback, knowledge assessments, attendance reporting, performance insights, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, coaching, mentoring, stakeholder engagement, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing competing deadlines and working effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital collaboration tools.
- Minimum 4 years of experience developing and implementing enterprise training plans.
- Minimum 4 years of experience using formative and summative training evaluation methods.
- Minimum 4 years of experience creating computer-based training modules and videos using Adobe Captivate or similar authoring tools.
- Minimum 4 years of experience using Digital Adoption Platforms such as WalkMe to create in-application guidance and user support.
- Working knowledge of SAP applications or other enterprise ERP systems.
